Medals seem to be increasingly popular these days. Here, the U.S. Mint showcases its candidates for the 2015 silver high relief medal: http://www.coinnews.net/2015/01/23/2015-high-relief-silver-medal-design-candidates/ Which is your favorite? While there are several excellent candidates, for my preference, I would like to see this obverse design: HR-O-11-M matched to this reverse design: HR-R-04-M .
I like : Candidate Design HR-O-20-M and Candidate Design HR-R-11-M http://www.coinnews.net/wp-content/...-Medal-Candidate-Design-HR-O-20-M-240x311.jpg http://www.coinnews.net/wp-content/...-Medal-Candidate-Design-HR-R-11-M-240x311.jpg
I do think the U.S. mint needs to shake things up. I think low mintage medals...no, not 400,000, more like 5,000 or less. Great way to reinvent themselves.
I think coins or medals would look better if they pictured all of the bird or animal not cutting off part of wings or other parts.
There are at least a couple of designs in which the eagle is depicted in full....I would think you'd prefer one of those....but which one? .
