I thought we needed a specific thread to showcase the Old ABC bars as more and more varieties are surfacing. Please post away and lets see how many types are out there. Many Thanks to all who participate. Ill kick it off.
nice 350g ingot now you need this variety (Canberra Times (ACT) - Sep 30 1980) (Canberra Times (ACT) - Aug 25 1980)
Top three are each 100g. The lower four:-"C" stamp =83g. "A" stamp=77g. "D" stamp = 92g. No stamp =79g. I know there is a "B" stamp somewhere out there - just waiting to join this collection!
Glad I found this thread ,unfortunately I don't get the images excepts tridents. Very nice bars, hope u get a b.
I haven't found much info out there. Someone posted here on SS a newspaper advert clipping showing the same style ABC gold ingots, from memory it was 1980's (I think). https://cdn0.rubylane.com/_pod/item...ian-Bullion-Company-ABC-99-full-3-2048-45.jpg "This is to certify that this 1/2 oz silver ingot which bears the stamp of the Australian Bullion Company Pty. Ltd., was melted and recast from 99.98% silver produced by Broken Hill Associated Smelters Pty. Limited." I would quite like to collect though industrial sized BHAS silvers bars to!
alor: haha you jest I wouldn't doubt other numbered or lettered versions of the under 100g do exist. I don't think I've seen an E or F but I have also never seen the 350 gms and 110 gram posted above by Bigfella. So many of these things were melted down. Hard to find but not impossible.
Hi there, the IMG file format only shows up as being a broken format on my computer (and a friend's) and thus no images.....am I alone here or is there special software I need to receive them ? Thanks Paulha
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question paulha. You should not require special software to view the images. Only images in the first 3 posts on this thread are permanently missing. Or you could try posting your question here:https://www.silverstackers.com/forums/index.php?forums/questions-comments.5/
