Wow that's the first time I've seen coins cheaper at the Perth mint, although they're out of stock now. I'm not sure with the current sentiment who's going to pay those prices. Or maybe I've just been out of the loop for too long. I guess dealers have to make money where they can but it's a bit disturbing if bullion money is the sole distributor in Australia and they're charging those prices straight off the bat.
yes BM is the authorized distributor for the Emu coins and will be for the upcoming swans(if I heard it correct but would it change from last year),just as last year. same situation about allocation as with last year swans.almost all went overseas...therefore luck was not on my side this time, sorry guys
Got to disagree, personally, with some opinion. The swan may be a better looking bird than the emu, that was never going to be argued. But, in my opinion the emu is a better realised design given the bird they had to work with, too. The design on the emu coin is better done, detailed, and more interesting visually. Full marks. And i will say i love the swan. Great coin. But to say this one is crude by comparison is just unfair and tbh, plain wrong. Have a look at the actual thing here (better than artists picture)

So has anyone bought an Emu? They are still available on Bullion Money for approx $42 but there are already several listed on eBay that have bids at $70! I think I might just grab one just to have in my collection. I don't care how much above spot it is, I'd spend more on a few beers at the pub anyway
Wow... !??!?!?! 14 boxes, 300 a box, that's 4,200 of them or exactly 14 % of the allotted population in ownership of one guy!!!!???? if he gets $30 profit on each thats 126,000 USD in profit, oh my gosh... I could buy a house with that!!!
Surprised there still isn't any dealers selling the 2018 WTE Only KJC is, but their postage prices are ridiculous Hopefully I can find a WTE soon - I expect them to develop somewhat of a premium over time similar to the 2014 due to the 50k mintage
I could help out with the wedgies and a few emu's to boot if you wanted Soprano You think KJC are bad at postage Perth mint want $17.50 a kilo to ship to Melbourne So a box of 300 coins works out at just under $200 for 1 box or nearly 60c a coin, I nearly hung up when I was told that, and that does not include insurance, which I think was another 1 and a half percent or so, I cant quite remember so another 30-40c per coin, these prices are completely off the planet Then they wanted another 1% plus for paying with plastic Whereas I can buy a box of 300 from Perth bullion for $25 shipping Is it any wonder no one buys at Perth Mint Anyway drop me a msg or reply here cheers grant
Wow, that's ridiculous. It's actually disgraceful that they charge those blatant ripoff prices. Last time I checked KJC MINIMUM postage charge is $49.95 - absolute joke Thanks for the information mate, I'll shoot you a PM too EDIT: Every time I go the Perth Bullion I usually just go to the "New Products" section and the WTE wasn't there so I just assumed they didn't have it, but if you go to the 1oz coins sections they actually do have it
Perth bullion has them for $47.80 each now can get them way cheaper overseas. Any word on a Tiger/Phoenix release date???
2018 Proof Swan has just been released Mintage of only 2500 I just bought a couple http://www.perthmint.com/catalogue/swan-2018-1oz-silver-proof-coin.aspx
I must have snuck in for a couple before they brought that in. I think it's an interesting move by Perth Mint, one would think if their is a huge demand for the swans ( with only 2500 mintage ) they would sell out by the 8th taking into consideration stores like Apmex etc and even smaller ones would have already bought in bulk.
Goes to show how much of a niche market they are. I think sometimes people like to believe these kind of coins are more popular then they really are. Perth Mint have saturated the marketed with way to many designs and most people are over it. Though the 2017 swan was probably the first decent new coin PM have come out with in a while, elegant and classical design. I don't think the 2018 design will be a big hit though.
