@PeacePeople both are collectable, The 100 g ABC seem damaged at the back. The price , a bargain price as the site may not be look at with traffics. Hence Low price.
The site focus is on slabbed coins to collectors. They still have a full week to go, but most of those bars are collectable from what I can tell. I'm not sure where they'll end up, but if they're not ridiculous, I might own 1 or more. I checked on allengelhard and got most of the info I was looking for. Thank you for the input.
I sold one between $700 & another $900 on fleebay Both in boxes one had a letter from GMH . Both went to the US
Based on info I got here, I did manage to "win" this one. The main info I got is that the back is not damaged, it is actually and identification mark. https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...ms-Private-Mint-Ingot-Uncertified-ASW-3212-oz We'll see what happens from here.
Something a bit different.... Heritage sets world record price for shipwreck silver bar. That's almost 25kg of silver - sold for US$81,000 or A$126,000 (melt value about A$29,000). temp. Philip IV silver Atocha Shipwreck Recovery Bar of 62 troy lb 11.20 troy oz ND(1621-1622), Marked with fineness IIUCCCLXXX (2380/2400, 99.16% fine), manifest number 1314, tax stamps and owner/shipper marks, assayer's bite to the side. 382x122x67mm. Salvaged from the "Nuestra Señora de Atocha" (sunk in 1622 off Key West, Florida). An iconic relic from perhaps the most famous shipwreck treasure. The Atocha bars come in various shapes and sizes, the present offering in between the largest ones. A piece counting with three Quinto stamps, A curious shipper "A", apparently engraved with several small rectangular punches (does not match the "A" siglas cataloged by Craig and Richards in their his "Spanish Treasure Bars" book), "V" for silver-master Jacove de Vreder in one corner, the monogram "EA", standing for "Shipped by A. de Aguirre for H. de Almonte" and another monogram/cross left, seemingly not mentioned by Craig/Richards. Such bars had stamps added during its odyssey's across Colonial America to their final destination: Spain, to their lawful owners. An always disputed artifact when offered at auction and one which is sure to entice its next owner and who else gets the chance to carry such hefty piece of history. https://coins.ha.com/itm/bolivia/bo...Item-Inventory-BuyNowFromOwner-JumpLot-081514
Went Op shopping yesterday and was waiting on the person I was with after finding nothing. Decided to double check the Jewelry cabinets and and with incredible luck found this. Had been there since last month. There is not many things I would rather find in an Op shop. I got all giddy and had to search online to double check my initial thoughts and ground myself. It had been my first good find at an Op shop in two years. Link to photos: https://imgur.com/gallery/SZ2jwNy Link to a collection of rare Engelhard pieces: https://allengelhard.com/definitive-pages/definitive-page-engelhard-odd-size/ I believe the one I bought is the second from the top and with less then 50 minted I am still over the moon. I haven't been on this account as much in the last five years so I have forgot how to imbed images. Sean

Hi All - Anyone able to confirm if I have 2 x JM kilos at less than 25 mintage as per AE screen grab below? Specifically, the difference between the rarer bars and the more common is the space between the 1 and the KG weight stamps. Eye balling I'd say I've got the rarer ones but would be good to get others opinions. TIA
Mate hate to say it but 1 I'm the person who picked up on the difference and sent pic to Allengelhard. and mate your font on the Johnson Matthey is the big font so not the under <25 mintage. as he 2 tt's are the easiest to see that have the bigger font. Example in pic below.
Why do people continue to think that the figure given by Allengelhard is the actual Mintage figure,,it is the figure that they suggest may still be out there in existence
^^^ cause everyone wants high $$$$ on their bars! note that AE is just telling everyone is ‘indicative’ figures…but seems everyone takes it like a bible!
