Use a Company sender description that accounts for high weight of item's such as 'Custom metal Chisel supplies'..'Custom order steel supplies Pty Ltd' etc This is a fantastic idea
Do Not Directly Use Sticky Tape on Items. They leave Bad Tape Residue ! on coins capsules on OMP Please Take Note.....
This used to annoy the ******* Christ out of me at Cash Convertors. Then someone put me onto olive oil, put a few drops onto residue let it soak in then just wipe off, works a dream.
First time for me, 1oz round does a Houdini. After reading above post, guessing this hasn't made it through the 5mm slot for letters. Was in an open ended paper sleeve, inside envelope.
Wow that's really bad packaging. Everybody knows the coin in capsule is around 5 mm already so it should have gone into a 20 mm thick bubble padded envelope which would have only cost an extra $1.20 for stamps and about .30c for the bubble padded envelope . Wrap the coin in some foam and place between stapled cardboard which is envelope size not only would the coin be safe from scratches and drops there is virtually no chance of it falling out of the envelope. Sorry to hear about your loss.
Hi Stackers, It is sad to see how some items are just thrown in a package that is flimsy and doesn't reach its destination, or is damaged. Rather than concentrate on the negativity of poorly packaged items, why not run a Monthly Competition for the best packaged items? The Buyer could enter pics of the unboxing of the item they purchased. It also encourages Sellers to lift their game and is a bit of fun at the same time.
This is not about packaging exactly, but TAKE PHOTOS of your package before you send. I recently had an incident with Auspost where there was an attempted delivery to the recipient, but the package was sent back to the delivery centre because the "address number was incorrect." At the time, I couldn't find the photo that I had taken, which clearly showed the correct number. After the recipient and I mucked around with Auspost on the phone for about 2-3 weeks, the recipient was able to collect the package from the central delivery centre. Auspost had put a label over the address number to cover up their mistake. The recipient was able to peel off the label with difficulty to reveal the correct number, no questions about it! They had put on their system that I had used another number, but it was just a big lie. The package was also quite banged up, but I had packed it well inside to protect the PMs. Dodgy Australia Post. Take pics!
