That Malaga cask and the Bushmills Marsala cask have definitely been some of my faves from the Whisky club lately. Also that Offerman Lagavulin!
The bottle on the far right that's mostly empty Has some extras added to it The black art of moving THC into alcohol That little drop is enough to put the biggest pot head on his ass for 24 hours +
Is anyone else noticing stock and/or choice declining on shelves around the country or is it just my Melbourne/Dan Murphy's perspective?
You have to look beyond Dans Cambridge cellars Caulfield Junction. Josh has probably the biggest whiskey collection. And his local to me.
alot of stocks not reaching, due to floating on cargo ships may be the owner are not willing to sell them for lower price, they are not sure if they can re-stock them ??? UNCERTAINTY
#1 my favourite Get it while you can is what Josh from Cambridge Cellars tells me They aren't making anymore . Just craked another bottle
Glenrothes 10 year...same as your pics. I have a few Speysides, decided to try a Highland Park...interesting!
Dan's up here is getting worse, cutting a lot of my favourite lines in beer and whiskey. I went to the one on the Sunny Coast a few months back, their selection of whiskeys were okay, but their beer selection was atrocious. Nearly as bad as up here. Could be worse I suppose, could live in Gladstone. My bathroom is bigger than Dan's in Gladstone.
I was going to stock up for Xmas today at DMs but they have a limited selection un-cooled...I've noticed it in 3 different stores now...QV in the CBD, South Melbourne and today in Ascot Vale. I asked the guy at the counter and he said it's a corporate decision to limit un-cooled beverages. Only your most popular beers are un-cooled in slabs. I couldn't find Lambrusco outside of the fridges! He reckons that their research showed people grab and chug! I think they have widened the aisles but reduced the size of the beer & mixer sections and increased the size of the wine sections. I was after some special beers and some Jameson+cola mixers but they are all chilled. I don't have room in the fridge to keep them all for 2 months! I'll have to get them from an independent or shop a few days before Xmas like all the peasants! Click and collect might be an option if you specified no refrigeration...don't know how that would go... I did notice today they had signs up on the shelves apologising for the lack of stock...Xmas might be interesting...
