Wine is also a great investment. Why not? If you would have bought a 2005 wine, that would be 15 years older in 2020.
Carlos Rossi Sangria for the cheap dates. A block of cheese and crackers to go with it for the fancy ladies. Whoohoo!
It is pretty difficult to sell though. Ebay / Gumtree / Facebook won't allow you to sell unless you have a license.
IMG_20200201_061751 by Aurora et luna posted Feb 1, 2020 at 6:21 AM I purchased these a few days ago. 1 quart bottle of Chivas Regal 12 years and a 1 litre bottle of Johnny Walker Extra Special Black Label that has been stored away for over 30 years The Chivas is 43% proof which is a bit different to the current Chivas which is 40% proof The Extra Special Black Label has volume contents, however there is no proof % anywhere on the bottle or box which surprises me. Even though they say whiskey don't age in bottles, I expect the contents of these to be superior to what's currently available in Dan Murphys I don't think I would go wrong with this purchase, bought both for $100
I ended up buying 3 bottles of the Chivas Regal 12 years @ 43% proof. One was in a litre bottle, the second a quart and the third was 750 mls The Chivas Regal sold in bottle shops now contains 700mls and is 40% proof. Just opened one of the bottles and I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it is! I only paid $35 for the 750mls bottle and I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to offer it to my guests.
I don't know if you should call whiskey an investment . More like an expansive hobby So let the battle of 12 year old single malts begin . There's 2 more in the limited edition 12 year old range . So I need to purchase at least 2 of each =6 bottles in total . 1 to drink & one to put away for later I might try to swap a 1/20 gold lunar for my next bottle instead of cash I wander if I could start a gofundme thingy to support my hobby ? With the rest of the boys
HAAH what tax thing ? Sell it ? why ? Why you trying to scare me These guys are up the road from me & I've been buying from Fred for over 30 years And Josh has the biggest range in Melbourne I would say https://www.cambridgecellars.com.au/product-category/whisky/single-malt-whisky/
The owners son & his the one responsible the huge whiskey selection . I get taste tests He lets me know whats coming in next Good customer service
Pulled the singles out (little hard to see in the "family shot" ) didn't worry about the "fillers" And hidden underneath the bar... All set for any lockdowns or currency crashes
Let me know if you're ever selling that Glenmorangie Malaga cask - 'tis one of my wife's favourites and it always pays to be in her good books
