I got a couple of gold watches recently (I am selling one) but will put up pictures for people to admire
That's not a watch this is a watch! The Invicta Hyromax!!!! When you go to a "Watch Convention" you want to make sure your packing a real watch. If your sitting on the beach with your babe, no punk will be kicking sand in your face when he sees the "Hydromax". If your at the pub throwing down a few frothy's and boys start talking about size. Pull out the "Hydromax" that will quash all size conversations, as size does matter. Seriously though, if anyone owns a "Invicta hydromax" it's bordering on the ridiculous. A homage watch based on the "Rolex deep sea challenge" made for James Cameron's deep see Submarine adventure. The Invicta watch company were the only company to at least try to make one that is a homage of the Rolex, I'll tip my hat off to them for having a go. Note the size compared to a normal a 39mm Casio watch and the weight.
You could KO yourself with that hunk o steel, try not to trip over while wearing it, I can see long term health effects from lugging that around on your wrist lol
Waltham watches always using IIII instead of IV Roman Serif. Thus giving more optical balance and symmetry of the clock. Any other reason? I know that symmetry always goes along in the clock world.
My rather well worn 911, 145.036 Flightmaster from 1972/73, in very loved condition, about due for a day spa at Bienne, taken the band off for a much needed clean, also managed to lose the winding crown last wear,............really not happy bout that.
Man I have been away for ages, decided to drop in and say hi, this is what I have been doing lately. Bought this from the bay last year, went to my watchmaker and while I was preying on the bay for any NOS parts that came up it ended up being almost a year until it was finally completed, so here's a before pic after I purchased it from the bay in OZ. This watch is as rare as rocking horse%$#@, I have wanted one for around 14 yrs, so never lose sight of your goals, even if at the time they may seem out of reach. This is a Breitling 812 GMT with a Valjoux 72 movement, like I said rare, there is not even any resource for research info, the extreme little you do get is from people who have already owned and restored them, very small club indeed. Every part I sourced was NOS nothing has been repainted. I don't have an original band so it now sits on a Canvas Breitling and black pvd buckle strap. Oh I have had the flightmaster completely redone by the same watchmaker, don't have pics of that on hand but has been fully restored too. pretty rough huh? So here's what you get after a year at the watchmaker and me sourcing NOS parts, which for this watch are almost non existent....almost
