New 10ozs Type A Style uncovered. http://allengelhard.com/the-collections/lesser-refiners/perth-mint/
Hey if a coin had a bigger gap than normal in its date it would be noticed, So why not collectable Silver. Don't forget the Serial number difference as well.
Greetings fellow silver freaks. I've recently purchased a 1kg silver Perth mint bar with the old swan logo (facing to the left). Dose anyone know when they changed to the current swan (facing right) logo? Is this bar in any way considered vintage, collectible or are the old logo bars common as house flies? Cheers and ooroo. (I'll try to post a picture tonight)
Yes the left swans are still common to see, no premium/collectibility value to mention of yet. Perhaps Admin @House could resurrect these old messages for posterity..? http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-770456.html#p770456 http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-6268-10-oz-perth-mint-silver-bars.html (https://www.silverstackers.com/foru...t-or-right-facing-swan-perth-mint-bars.66286/)
Hey Stackers Has anyone come across a "miss strike" PM bar? This 20oz'er is clearly (way clearer in the flesh than the photo) missing the line in the scroll/ribbon that the swan is holding on to. The 999 at the bottom also seems to be struck too far down so some of the numbers are cut off. Not sure if this is a glitch in the matrix. I dont think its a fake because i bought it from a bullion dealer also it feels, smells, tastes and sounds legit ( i have not done a SG or Xref test on it) If you guys think its questionable then ill get it tested. Let me know what you think and if you have come across anything like it Cheers
It looks completely legitimate. I don't see how a poor stamp on the bar would relate to it being fake Silver or not. Plenty of old cast bars aren't stamped perfectly, which often adds to their appeal. If you're concerned about it being fake Silver, go ultrasonic, PMV or XRF for peace of mind.
I'm more of a coin guy, but I really do like the look of the 10oz Type bars I've had a look through that website, can anyone give me an idea of what the value of them are? Not expecting a price for every type of 10oz old bar, but just general ball park etc would be great
I'm new here and have been trying to learn more about some bars I inherited. Are these type B bars? Any idea whether they are easy to sell and the going rate?
Picked up this well looked after 40 yo slab, My first old silver I like the way its got such a nice tone yet no dents or scratches.
Hey Stackers, I’ll be acquiring this beautiful vintage 10oz bar shortly, however I had a look on allengelhard and am still not sure if it fits under the Type A or Type B catergory bar. Could someone wiser than me please let me know your thoughts, and what the potential sale price for it would be? Thanks
Picked up this little 5oz from a coin shop I buy my 1966 from she was lonely, I thought not to shabby, and it came in a nice Perth Mint Box and under <200
