Just spit balling at the moment but what say we hold a national meet-up? Yes it will cost, but none of us are poor. We could hold it in a mutually agreed city. We could charge $50 a head to the hosting city members with the money contributing to the incoming members. Maybe arrange a fleet of cars to pick up and drop off members at the airport so we can have a fly in - fly out day. Perhaps look for sponsors! I'll put my name forward to speak for the Sydney Stackeratti, need spokesmen for Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Tassie, Canberra, Brisbane and Nth Qland, and NT. Over to the other 10,000 members for comment.
I've visited stackers in Adelaide. Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart, Newcastle and Canberra, Perth is the most expensive. It unfortunately is the least practical city. Wagga Wagga would be the most accessible city for Me;borne, Sydney and Canberra. I also have strong connections in Albury.
@Silverman99 @Captain Kookaburra @Bullion Now @jultorsk only spoke about organising a trip to Perth yesterday @ Brisbane's meetup.
Yeh, we could do a tour of the inner workings of the new kid on the block, Bullion Now. Take about 30 seconds then we go for drinks.
Would you be happy to help fund interstate visitors by paying $50 a head for Melbourne participants. Would also need to ferry visitors to and from the airport. Also I can't call it annual yet! Millennial at the moment.
For something totally different how about Auckland as a venue Come on over and support the local economy with a visit to NZ Mint and have a holiday at the same time
My biggest issue with travelling IS I've never paid to travel or to get into a venue or anything like that, If someone else pays for my ticket I'm there
This is getting bigger than Ben Her! I suggested an East Coast of Oz city as it will capture the greatest number of Stackers. Secondly, Wagga or perhaps Albury would work as most people could drive or train there. There are better locations but the cost is prohibitive. I'm going against my grain, but just trying to be practical.
Haven't been to Perth before and Perth Mint visit is on my bucket list, especially the mine to mint tour. I would be keen to attend the event if in Perth. East coast cities are the most practical and meeting up in Wagga/Albury is the most suitable as pointed. Great idea btw. Let's see if this works out.
Out of interest if I was to fly in can someone tell me how long does the drive take from Sydney to Wagga or Albury
Just a few thoughts subject to location and day. 1) Regardless of location, you could ask one of the local bullion dealers to support the gathering via both attendance by a local bullion dealer to spruik their products in return for some discounted items for sale and maybe a few giveaways. 2) If held in Sydney (on a weekday), ABC's refinery is located in Marrickville (inner west suburbs of Sydney 15 mins from CBD). Could always approach them about a refinery tour for the SS members. 3) Maybe a bullion dealer (if held in a major city) could provide a room for the meet.
